welcome to innovation.
The Western Academy of Beijing (WAB) in China has a culmination of three years of shared experience in the F1 in Schools program and World Finals. Coming from an international school, which was the first to offer this unique program in China, Team Qi combines a variety of backgrounds and strengths for this type of competition.
Even as the relative newcomers to the World Finals, WAB teams in past years have brought new innovations to the challenge, most notably the “subframe” or car chassis implementation. Team Qi has no plans to discontinue this trend and certainly hopes to set the new standard for F1 in Schools teams in the future. We invite you to experience this innovation as you browse our website and see what the power of Qi is about.
the design brief.
Team Qi is “commissioned to design, construct, and race the fastest Formula One car of the future, driven by compact compressed reclaimed carbon dioxide power plants.” — F1 in Schools Rules & Regulations, 2010
Our team’s primary objective is to design, manufacture, and race an F1 in Schools car that will set new records at the 2010 World Finals in Singapore. Beyond this, Team Qi also aspires to break the 1.0-second time barrier, setting the new gold standard for teams in the future. In order to achieve this objective, we must focus our attention on innovation in all major areas of the competition, from collaboration to manufacturing.
